HUNT x I DRAW ON BIKES
I painted the HUNT Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc Wheelset to present at Velofollies and Cycling World Düsseldorf.
The inspiration for this project is rooted in velocity. The velocity with which I move through nature on two wheels, carried by a rhythm that is never fixed but always shif- ting. Speed unfolds in many shades. There are moments when the world seems to pause, almost weightless, and others when everything dissolves into a flowing ribbon of motion. Cycling can be fast. Each cadence alters percep- tion in its own quiet way. Colors stretch into gentle trails, details loosen their grip, contours soften and reassemble themselves.
In my artistic practice, I explore the symbiotic relationship between cycling through nature and my creative expres- sion. When I‘m riding through different landscapes, I feel a unique connection to the environment.
VAR0 – The purest blank canvas
BMC released the first VAR0 inspired by Paul Klee - abstract, angular, alive.
I was excited to accept an invitation to Switzerland to work with the latest frame set by BMC – the VAR0. A true blank canvas in every sense. 🎨🖌️🖼️
The concept for this project came from Fritjof, who suggested creating a tribute to the artist Paul Klee. At the time, I wasn’t very familiar with Klee’s work, which made the idea all the more intriguing. I’ve always appreciated the opportunity to dive into the world of another artist – to research, interpret, and respond through my own creative lens.
If you're interested in a custom paint job, feel free to reach out via email. Please note that I never replicate designs – every piece I create is entirely one of a kind.
The entire process was beautifully documented by Dominique Müller.
This year I had the opportunity to work together with Brompton on a big project.
Having worked on several projects with Brompton before, I have hand-painted two bikes for them in my very own style to celebrate the opening of the Berlin Junction in Spring 2024.
My design draws inspiration from the abstract artworks of Hilma af Klint, a pioneering figure in the realm of abstraction. Her earliest series, dating back to 1906, preceded the works of renowned abstract artists such as Kandinsky. Hilma was a prominent member of 'The Five,' a collective of women deeply influenced by spiritual themes.
